DARCARS Honda of Bowie is looking for an Automotive Sales Manager
Large Automotive Dealership Group seeking an Automotive Sales Manager. This position is responsible for assisting the Dealer in planning, organizing, and controlling the sales of the New & Used Sales Department. The Sales Manager also measures the performance of the employees in the department and provides assistance to them.
For this role, you'll need:
- Automotive sales experience is required
- 2 years of experience working in sales management
- Experience managing groups and teams
- Mentality that no job is too small
- Ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of the organization

In this role, you'll:
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
- Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
- Attend managers' meetings.
- Assist the Dealer in forecasting controllable expense elements for the new and used vehicle departments.
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect new and used vehicle sales.
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of new and used sales employees.
- Report all vehicles sold.
- Direct new and used salespeople to enhance the dealership's image and customer satisfaction ratings.
- Communicate with and mentor new and used salespeople to ensure dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Set sales and gross objectives for salespeople.
- Guide all salespeople in setting both short- and long-range objectives.
- Review each salesperson's performance.
- Develop improvement plans for salespeople who are not meeting objectives.
- Supervise salespeople to ensure they maintain planned customer follow-up.
- Evaluate each salesperson's gross performance quarterly.
- Conduct weekly sales meetings.
- Maintain accurate daily and monthly sales records.
- Ensure salespeople follow the company's prospecting program to maximize results.
- Comply with manufacturer training requirements for both self and sales staff.
- Recommend inventory by color, model, and equipment based on customer demand and market analysis.
- Help salespeople close deals when necessary.
- Confirm salespeople's appointments are entered into Elead.
- Maintain high standards for vehicle deliveries to customers.
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinate the work of the sales team with the Service Department, Parts Department, and Business Office.
- Assist the Dealer in developing advertising campaigns and promotional activities.
